A constructions prompt

Dave Fielding (Director of Learning at Willingdon Community School, Eastbourne) has got in touch through our e-mail address (teachers@inquirymaths.co.uk). He makes the following suggestion for a prompt on constructions:

If two circles are constructed so that their centres lie on a straight line and their circumferences pass through each other’s centres, then the straight line must lie at sixty degrees to another line that passes through either one of the centres and either point where the circumferences intersect.
